ABOUT RUTH

TIMELESS IMAGES FOR PEOPLE WHO APPRECIATE VALUE MEANING OVER TRENDS

Hey ya'll, I'm Ruth. Just a Nashville-based photographer capturing weddings, families, and life as it unfolds, honestly and beautifully.

Photography has always been more than a job to me, it's how I hold onto the moments that pass too quickly. I've always found joy in looking through old photographs of the people I love most, and even the one's that I never got to meet but helped make me who I am.

Like me, Ruth Evangeline Photography is named after my grandmothers, two women who shaped who I am and taught me the value of family, faith, and legacy. This business exists in their honor, and for people who want their memories preserved with the same care.

I believe photos should feel real. The quiet in-between moments, the laughter that catches you off guard, the way it all felt, not just how it looked. Whether I am documenting a wedding day or a season of family life, my goal is always the same: images that still mean everything years from now.

What it's like working with me

When you work with me, you don't just get a photographer, you get someone who is fully invested in your story. I'll guide you when you need it, step back when you don't, and make sure you feel comfortable and confident every step of the way.

I value connection, communication, and creating an experience that feels easy and intentional. No stiff posing. No rushing through moments. Just honest storytelling and images you'll be proud to pass down.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
IMG_5396_edited.jpg

I was born and raised in a small town in Southeastern Kentucky and made my way to Nashville, TN in 2017. Photography has been part of my life since high school, but it truly became a calling in college when my parents gifted me my first “real” camera. That moment changed everything for me.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph a wide range of people and moments, from intimate, everyday stories to large-scale events and artists like Jelly Roll and Charity Gayle, along with many other influential speakers and creatives within the Christian community. My work is rooted in my faith in Jesus, guiding the way I see people, tell stories, and approach each moment with intention and care. I’ve also earned state-level photography awards and am a proud member of the Professional Photographers of America.

Outside of photography, I’m fueled by Diet Coke, obsessed with golden-hour light, and almost always talking about my dog, Regina (yes, Regina George). I love slow mornings, a good thrift store find, and curling up in my hammock with a good book.
